General information only
HWVibes is a health and wellness education website. Our articles, recipes, tools, audio versions and quizzes are written to help you understand health topics in plain language and prepare better questions for your own doctor.
Nothing on HWVibes is medical advice, and nothing here is tailored to you, your history or your medicines. Nothing on this website is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition.
Never ignore professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you have read here. If our content seems to differ from what your doctor has told you, follow your doctor.
Who writes and checks our content
HWVibes is published by Mohammad Faisal Khan, founder and editor. He is not a doctor or a licensed healthcare professional, and he does not present himself as one.
Articles are researched and written by the HWVibes Editorial Team from public health sources such as the CDC, FDA, NHS, WHO, NIH, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and university public-health schools. Selected articles are additionally reviewed by Dr. Hena A. Ansari (MBBS, MD Pathology), Professor, Department of Pathology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University. Pages that have been reviewed say so, name the reviewer and show a “Last reviewed” date. Pages without that box have not been through expert review.
No doctor–patient or professional relationship
Reading HWVibes, using our tools, commenting or emailing us does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, dietitian–client or any other professional relationship between you and HWVibes, its operator, editorial team, medical reviewer or contributors.
We cannot answer personal medical questions, interpret test results, review symptoms or recommend treatments for you.
HWVibes also does not give professional advice of any other kind, including financial, legal, insurance or nutritional-therapy advice.
Always consult your doctor before acting
Before you act on anything you read on HWVibes, speak to your own doctor or another qualified healthcare professional who knows your situation. This applies to everything described on the site, including:
- Medicines and doses, whether prescription or over the counter.
- Supplements and vitamins, including minerals, herbal products and “natural” remedies.
- Diets and meal plans, including changes to how much protein, salt, sugar, potassium, fluid or fibre you take in.
- Recipes and drinks, including wellness drinks, juices and tonics.
- Exercises and movement routines, including somatic, nervous-system and breathing exercises, stretches and workouts.
- Home remedies and comfort measures, such as heating pads, hot baths, hot-water bottles or cold packs.
- Devices, including home monitors, massagers and other health gadgets.
- Fasting, detox or cleanse approaches of any kind.
- Stopping or changing any treatment your doctor has recommended. Never stop or change a prescribed medicine or treatment because of something you read here.
What is safe for one person can be harmful for another. Only a professional who can assess you can tell you what is right for you.
Who should take extra care
Some people are more likely to be affected by changes in diet, supplements, exercise or home remedies. Please be especially careful, and always get professional advice first, if you are:
- pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive;
- making decisions for a child or teenager;
- an older adult, or caring for one;
- living with a diagnosed condition such as diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, liver disease, an eating disorder or a mental-health condition;
- taking any prescription medicine, or about to change a dose;
- living with allergies or food intolerances;
- experiencing symptoms that are new, severe, unexplained or getting worse.
Medical emergencies
Do not use HWVibes for emergencies or wait for a reply from us about anything urgent. If you think someone may be having a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately:
- India: 112 (ambulance 108)
- United States: 911
- United Kingdom: 999 (NHS 111 for urgent but non-emergency help)
- Mental-health crisis in India: Tele-MANAS on 14416 or 1-800-891-4416
Elsewhere, please contact your local emergency services or a local crisis line.
Topic-specific notes
The points above apply to every page. These notes add detail for the topics we cover most often.
Kidney health and kidney stones. Kidney stones and kidney disease have many causes, and the right approach to fluids, salt, protein, potassium and other nutrients depends on your stone type, kidney function and medicines. Only your doctor can tell you what applies to you. Severe pain, fever, blood in the urine or difficulty passing urine need prompt medical attention.
Blood sugar and diabetes-related content. Our content on sugar, cravings and blood sugar is general education. If you have diabetes or prediabetes, or take medicines that lower blood sugar, changes to food, fasting or activity can affect your levels. Talk to your doctor or diabetes care team first.
Nutrition, diet and meal planning. Our nutrition articles and sample meal ideas are not personal meal plans. A meal plan for a medical condition, including kidney disease, must come from your doctor or a registered dietitian (a renal dietitian for kidney disease), who can take your test results and medicines into account.
Supplements and vitamins. Reading about vitamins or deficiency signs does not mean you need a supplement. Supplements can interact with medicines and can be harmful in high doses. Deficiencies should be confirmed and treated with a doctor’s help. HWVibes does not sell supplements.
Exercise, movement and somatic content. Exercises, stretches, breathing techniques and somatic routines may not suit everyone, including people with heart or lung conditions, injuries, pain, pregnancy or a history of trauma. Check with your doctor first, start gently, and stop if you feel pain, dizziness, breathlessness or distress.
Heat, cold and other home comfort measures. Heating pads, hot baths and cold packs can cause burns or cold injury if used incorrectly. Take extra care if you may not feel heat or cold properly, such as with some cases of diabetes or circulation problems, and with children, older adults and during pregnancy. Follow product instructions and ask your doctor whether a measure suits you.
Mental health and wellbeing. Our wellbeing content is not therapy and is not a substitute for care from a mental-health professional. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact emergency services or a crisis line straight away, such as Tele-MANAS in India.
Infectious disease and health news. Articles about outbreaks and health news, such as Nipah virus awareness, reflect what was publicly known when we wrote or updated them. Situations change quickly, so this content may become outdated. Always follow the current advice of official health authorities.
Recipes. Some recipe ingredients may not suit everyone. For example, potassium-rich or salty additions may not be appropriate for people with kidney disease, heart disease or high blood pressure, or for people taking certain medicines. Check for allergens, and ask your doctor or dietitian whether a recipe fits your needs. Any nutrition figures in recipe cards are estimates.
Tools, calculators, audio and quizzes
Our interactive tools, including the added-sugar converter, give general estimates based on the numbers you enter and typical values. They are not diagnostic tools and should not be used to make medical or dietary decisions without professional advice.
“Listen to this article” audio versions are produced automatically using text-to-speech and may mispronounce words or read tables less clearly. The written article is the reference version.
Quizzes and polls are for education and interest only. Your score or answers do not say anything about your personal health, and poll results reflect the readers who took part, not medical evidence.
What medical review means
Dr. Hena A. Ansari reviews selected articles, not all of them. When an article has been reviewed, it shows her name and a “Last reviewed” date.
A medical review is an editorial check of the accuracy of wording, clarity, safety framing and the avoidance of misleading claims, carried out at the review date shown.
A medical review does not mean:
- that the content is personal advice or a recommendation for you;
- that a doctor–patient relationship exists between you and the reviewer;
- that the page covers every possible risk, option or exception;
- that later changes to the page, or pages without the review box, have been reviewed.
Our reviewer has no financial interest in advertising or links on the site, and reviews are never sponsored. You can read more in our Medical Review Policy.
Reader experiences and general patterns
Some articles describe “what many people notice”, common experiences, or comments shared by readers. These describe general patterns only. They are not promises, predictions or evidence that something will work for you, and your own experience may be very different. Comments from readers reflect their own views and are not checked or endorsed by HWVibes or our reviewer.
Accuracy, currency and changes
We work hard to keep our content accurate and up to date, and we correct errors when we find them. Even so, health knowledge changes, guidelines are revised and mistakes can happen, so we cannot guarantee that every page is complete, correct or current when you read it.
Check the dates shown on a page and confirm anything important with your doctor. If you spot an error, please tell us; see our Corrections Policy.
AI-assisted content
Writing and editing tools, including AI, may assist with research organisation, outlining, drafting, editing and layout. A human editor reviews everything before it is published, and selected articles are also medically reviewed. AI is never used to give you personalised advice, and no reader data is fed into AI tools. AI can introduce errors, which is one more reason to confirm health decisions with your doctor. See our AI Content Disclosure for details.
External links
We link to outside sources, such as health authorities and research, so you can check our information. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, products or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. Our External Links Policy explains how we choose links.
Advertising and affiliate links
HWVibes is free to read. We use or may use display advertising, and some pages may contain affiliate links that earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Advertisers and partners do not decide what we write, and an advert or affiliate link is not a medical recommendation. We do not sell supplements, cures, detoxes or test kits, and any sponsored content would be clearly labelled. See our Affiliate Disclosure and Advertising Policy.
No warranties
HWVibes and all of its content, tools and features are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties or representations of any kind, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, reliability, suitability or availability of the site or its content, or that the site will be free of errors, interruptions or harmful components.
Assumption of risk
You are responsible for your own health decisions. If you choose to act on information from HWVibes without first consulting your doctor or another qualified professional, you do so entirely at your own risk. This includes trying any medicine, supplement, diet, recipe, exercise, home remedy, device, fasting approach or other practice described on the site.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HWVibes, its operator, editorial team, medical reviewer and contributors are not liable for any loss, injury, illness or damage of any kind, whether direct or indirect, incidental, special or consequential, arising from or connected with your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content, tools, audio, quizzes, recipes or links.
This includes, without limitation, any decision you make about your health, diet, supplements, exercise, home remedies or treatment, and any delay in seeking professional care.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless HWVibes, its operator, editorial team, medical reviewer and contributors from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use or misuse of the site, your breach of this disclaimer or our Terms of Service, or anything you submit to the site.
Jurisdiction and local variation
HWVibes is operated from India and is read around the world. Medical guidelines, approved medicines, doses, product rules and emergency services differ from country to country, so information on the site may not match the rules or recommendations where you live. Please follow local professional advice and official guidance.
This disclaimer is governed by the laws of India, and any dispute relating to it is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
Consent by use
By using HWVibes, you confirm that you have read and understood this disclaimer and agree to it. This disclaimer forms part of our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Changes to this disclaimer
We may update this disclaimer from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised version.
