Accessibility Statement

Accessibility

Health information should be easy for everyone to read and use. This statement explains what we do to make HWVibes accessible and where we still have work to do.

Last updated: 24 September 2026

The short version: We aim to follow WCAG 2.1 Level AA as a goal. We have not been independently certified, and some older pages and third-party embeds may fall short. If anything is hard to use, tell us and we will try to fix it or send you the content in another format.

Our commitment

We want HWVibes to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology, and people reading on small screens or slow connections.

What we do

  • Readable text: clear fonts, comfortable text sizes and colour contrast chosen for readability.
  • Clear structure: a logical heading order and an “On this page” menu on longer pages.
  • Alt text: text alternatives for meaningful images; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Keyboard-friendly navigation: menus and links designed to be usable without a mouse.
  • Responsive layout: pages that adapt to phones, tablets and desktops, with wide tables that scroll rather than break.
  • Listen versions: many articles offer a “Listen to this article” audio version.
  • Accessible tables: data tables use proper header cells.
  • Plain language: short paragraphs, plain English and explained medical terms.

Standards we aim for

We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as a goal. This is an aim, not a claim of certified conformance. We have not had the site formally audited, and we review pages as we update them.

Known limitations

  • Older pages: some older articles may have missing alt text, less consistent headings or images with text in them. We update these as we revise each page.
  • Third-party embeds: some quizzes and polls are provided by third-party services, and their accessibility is partly outside our control.
  • Advertising: ads, where shown, are served by third-party networks and may not meet the same standards.
  • Audio versions: text-to-speech audio may mispronounce some medical terms. The written page is always the reference version.

Feedback and alternative formats

If you have difficulty using any part of HWVibes, please tell us. Include the page link, what you were trying to do and, if you are happy to share it, the device, browser or assistive technology you use.

If you need an article in another format, such as plain text or larger print, ask us and we will do our best to provide it.

Please do not take any medicine or supplement, change your diet, or try any remedy, device or procedure without first consulting your own doctor.
